Mini Tournament Success!

A weekend of intense netball fun

One of the key highlights from March was our mini tournament held on the 24th with participation from two Amsterdam teams, one Utrecht team and our special guests, Berlin. Involving a 10-match round robin, all teams competed against one another for ultimate glory, but most of all some fun, and just simply, a great opportunity to meet other expats who similarly share passion for the game. With some fierce competition and great skills on display, Amsterdam #2 ended up victors on the day, despite a one point loss to away side Berlin.

But that wasn’t the end of it. Oh no! In true fighting spirit, we backed up the tournament with a skills training session that afternoon with our favourite guest coach, Emma. She flew in especially to umpire the tournament and provide much needed advice on our progress and continued development. Finally, if we weren’t feeling all sore and sorry for ourselves the next morning, we had yet another (and thankfully, final) skills training session to help reinforce the message. But a reward did await us in the form of brunch at Los Felis. And let’s just say we did not hold back on the cocktails…

A great effort by many including those involved in team selection, devising the program, distributing uniforms, carting equipment, drawing up the court, umpiring, scoring, time keeping, producing our social media content and booking our well-deserved brunch. Phew! It’s great to have a club with so many keen to pitch in and we thank all of you.
